Before hop harvest this year, we were visited in Katoomba by our mates at Kyoto Brewing. Together we decided to brew a collaboration that we knew would stand out from the crowd.

After a few beers we figured the only logical thing to do with one of the premier Japanese breweries was to brew a Belgian style IPA, before we all flew off to New Zealand. Is that clear?

This Belgian IPA blends everything we love about traditional Belgian ales with our modern interpretation of West Coast IPA’s, whilst also incorporating some New Zealand grown hops that we all sniffed during harvest.

Pouring out a bright, golden colour thanks to a generous addition of honey malt, our first ever Belgian IPA displays assertive citrus aroma from the double dry hop of Simcoe, Southern Cross and Riwaka hops before ending each sip with a subtle yet complex spiciness from the traditional Belgian ale yeast.
